Foul Play; Falcon

Posted in Archived Articles, Features on Monday, October 10, 2011 by McG.

In the world of SWA there was one man who the fans could always get behind no matter what, but at Clan Wars Falcon went from hero to turncoat as he walked out of his partnership with Black Samurai Junior and joined the Originals.

This may not shock long time SWA fans. Back in the day Falcon found fame as part of the A-List alongside Wolfgang, Darkside and BT Gunn. Co-founded with ally, and now Source star James St James, the duo took the group to the heights of SWA with Falcon gaining the NWA-UK Junior Heavyweight and SWA Tag Team championships due to his alliance with the group.

Growing in-fighting within the group led to Falcon being the first to depart and soon after he won the vacated NWA Scottish title after a massive Battlezone win.

With a new chapter in his career starting, he gained a lot of attention including a match of the year candidate against Johnny Moss, in which he lost the title, and went on to wrestle across the UK and Europe. It was in these travels that he found, and began to mentor, Black Samurai Junior. After years of hard work and training together, they struggled their way towards the Gathering 4′s multi-team ladder match and watched away that night with the tag titles.

Having successfully forged his own path away from his nefarious deeds in both singles action as well as in the tag team with BSJ, Falcon seemed content on the surface. But underneath his cheerful demeanor, a green eyed demon was growing inside him.

As the Source Generation of SWA was rising, Falcon was left in the dust as new stars were given opportunities to shine and the likes of Andy Anderson climbed the ranks and gained all the (much deserved) praise. Even Junior was becoming a favorite ahead of Falcon and without anyone realizing it, the masked wonder was at breaking point with envy.

At this years Clan Wars event, we saw the envy spill over to rage as Falcon intentionally led on the Source Generation team only to turn his back on them and hand the victory to the Originals. We don’t have to ask why, but we would like to know whats next for Falcon. Have the Originals promised him a prize for joining them? Does he have plans to use their backup to regain his status as NWA Scottish title contender? Orwill he just be ready to take out his anger and frustration on BSJ?

I guess we’ll find out soon as SWA is back in Uddingston on October 29th, and then returns to cose the year in November. Click here for our full event listings.
