After being based in the Paisley area for over 6 years and running shows all over Glasgow, the SWA committee thought it was high time to come home by bringing SWA to the Paisley Town Hall. On Friday April 23rd, SWA presents Home Stance.
What with Eric Canyon deciding the competitors for the NWA Scottish Heavyweight Title at Rebirth in Uddingston, PJ Murphy moved quickly to make his mark on the Home Stance card. And what better way for Murphy to christen a new venue by puting forward a 12 Man “Champions Gold” Battle Royal, with the winner squaring off against the NWA Scottish Heavyweight Champion that very night! Already scheduled to compete, former two time NWA Scottish Heavyweight Champion; Wolfgang, “The Highlander” Colin McKay, “Merchandise” Mike Musso, the monster of the English Midlands; Jekkel, current SWA Laird of the Ring; Damian O’Conor, T-Division Champion; Ricky Gibson, SWA Hall of Famer Glen Dunbar, Sean Mark Sweeney, Joseph Kerr and Black Samurai Junior. PJ Murphy will also be announcing two surprise names on the night! With quite a few big names involved, either Scott Renwick or Lionheart will certainly have their hands full!
Murphy also decided to put on a true showcase at Home Stance. Putting together quite possibly the two most celebrated Cruiserweights in Scotland today. Former NWA Scottish Heavyweight Champion, former NWA Junior Heavyweight Champion and former SWA Tag Team Champion, the high flying, masked bird of prey, Falcon takes on the most exciting wrestler in the UK right now, former NWA Scottish Heavyweight Champion, former SWA Tag Champion, and SWA Match of the year winner 2009 BT Gunn!. With Falcon showing a more serious side as of late, and B.T Gunn deciding that 2010 will be his year, this should be one hell of a spectacle!
Eric Canyon has also managed to make his mark on the card however, by granting one of his stooges a chance of vengeance. Back in October 2009, at SWA Aftermath, The Ministry of the Bizarre’s Jack Jester and SWA’s Breakout Star of the Year 2009 Nikki Storm embarrassed Red Lightning and his partner Sara by taking the victory from right under Lightning’s nose. Red Lightning has had quite the chip on his shoulder over the whole affair and has begged Canyon to give him and Sara a chance to redeem themselves at Home Stance.
The 16 Man tournament kicks into high gear once again with quite possibly one of the hardest hitting, bone crushing, aggressive match ups that the SWA committee could even begin to think of. In one corner you have one of the most sought after men in Britain, back in the UK after a long stint in OVW, one of the most unique athletes in wrestling today. He’s known as the Human Hate Machine, he is Big, Bad Dave Mastiff!
And who could we possibly put against someone of that calibre in a town like Paisley? How about the last remaining active SWA “original”? How about the only three time NWA Scottish Heavyweight Champion in history? How about the Paisley Wrecking Machine Adam Shame!
The card so far for SWA Home Stance:
NWA Scottish Heavyweight Championship
Winner of Champions Gold Battle Royal vs. Scott Renwick or Lionheart
Match 3 of the 16 Man Tournament
Adam Shame vs. Dave Mastiff
Falcon vs. BT Gunn
Jack Jester & Nikki Storm vs. Red Lightning & Sara
