Updates for Uddingston March 6th

When SWA came to Clydebank for Aftermath in October, we were witness to the power struggle brewing between co-owners PJ Murphy and Eric Canyon. On Saturday March 6th at the Viewpark Community Centre in Uddingston for SWA Rebirth 2010, both men will be doing everything in their power to influence the face of the Scottish Wrestling Alliance.

Eric Canyon has already made his intentions clear to the SWA committee and fans, he feels that true power of the company lies in the possession of all titles available in SWA. Having already made the first step when he had his two chronies William Grange and Dickie Divers, aka. STI, screw Britain’s Most Wanted out of their SWA Tag Team Titles at Battlezone 2009, Canyon will be looking to achieve his goal by capturing the SWA Laird of the Ring Title and the NWA Scottish Heavyweight Title at Rebirth.

However, in an ironic twist in the tale, the men standing before him holding both singles titles happen to be the same two members of Britain’s Most Wanted that Canyon screwed previously, Scott Renwick and Damian O’Conor. In Uddingston, Canyon plans to punish both men for not aligning themselves with his group by putting them both against opponents handpicked by himself. Taking on O’Conor for the Laird of the Ring Title is Red Lightning, the man Canyon chose to soften up Majik in Bellahouston last year. For Renwick, the current Scottish Heavyweight Champ, comes former two time Champion Lionheart. Little is known about the relationship between Canyon and Lionheart, but what is clear is that the former Champion is anxious to get what he believes is rightfully his, and he will find one way or another to walk out of Rebirth the three time NWA Scottish Heavyweight Champion.

The plans of the other major SWA shareholder, PJ Murphy, unfortunately aren’t quite as see through. Murphy did release some information to the SWA committee today, announcing that he plans to hold a 16 man tournament, the final of which will culminate at the Gathering 4 in Autumn of this year. He made it clear however that he won’t be giving away the prize of the tournament until he walks into his own hometown of Uddingston on March 6th. The only bit of information Murphy did pass on though was that some of the best wrestlers not only in Scotland or the UK, but in the whole world would be contesting this tournament. And kicking off the first round, two of the best all round wrestlers in Scotland and the UK today, BT Gunn and Liam Thompson!

Also on the card, Canyon’s stable mates, in the Superior Talent Initiative (STI). will have their hands full as they will be battling it out with Falcon and Black Samurai Jr. whom co-owner PJ Murphy has granted a second shot at the Tag Titles. STI blatantly screwed the two masked men at Aftermath, and Murphy has made it clear to Canyon that his two men won’t get away with it so easily as we roll into Uddingston for Rebirth.

The Ministry of the Bizarre’s Jack Jester will also be on hand at Rebirth as he takes on the promising rookie, “The Professional” Jackie Polo. Polo, a man with high ambition and bad intentions made the challenge to the Bizarre One in his quest to make an impact at the Scottish Wrestling Alliance. Polo has said that he will be the Breakout Scottish Star of 2010 and feels that a victory over former Scottish Champion Jack Jester will only serve to solidify his claims and hasten his charge!
