Results: Battlezone, Govan (03.07.2010)

Sunday, July 4th, 2010

In the absence of Peter Murpphy, Eric Canyon was in full control of the event watching closely to ensure his favoured talent would have a good night. With Canyon pulling the strings, we saw events unfold that would have huge consequences for the Gathering on September 11th!

The opening match saw the ever-popular Lowlanders team up once again to make the challenge for STI’s SWA Tag Team Championship, five years after their tag team title win at the first Battlezone. The duo had an energetic defense, despite some impressive work from STI, and managed to gain a pin fall via roll up. As the Lowlanders and the crowd celebrated the titles changing hands, Canyon instantly got involved. Forcing the referee to reverse the decision, he stood at ringside and watched closely until STI gained the final victory.

Results: North Ayrshire Tour (21-23.05.2010)

Monday, May 24th, 2010

SWA entered North Ayrshire for the first time this weekend in what will be remembered as a thrilling event! The match of the weekend came in the third and final night when BT Gunn found himself tapping out courtesy of challenger Damien O’Conor, while Joe Coffey went on to challenge Red Lightning after winning a shot at the Laird of the Ring Championship.

Despite a loss to Red Lightning, who retained the title, Coffey showed strong opposition to the champion and certainly made his mark by winning a singles match against Barry Miller on the first night as well as coming out on top of a ten man battle royal

It wasn’t the best of nights for Scott Renwick as he took on another of Eric Canyon’s challengers to the Championship! Battling Liam Thomson to defend the NWA Scottish Heavyweight Championship wasn’t an easy battle for Renwick, having to dodge and outwit the technical mastery of Thomson, but Renwick refused to give in!

Unfortunately his victory never came as the entire locker room spilled out in a violent and viscous symptom of the ongoing civil war in the locker room. With Renwick attacked in the crossfire, the match was declared a no contest.

Results: April 23rd 2010, Paisley Town Hall

Saturday, April 24th, 2010

The event in Paisley Town Hall started with a bang when Adam Shame interrupted Charles Boddington and his latest client, Dave Mastiff, stopping them from signing the national anthem and within moments the hatred for the English contender was obvious in Paisley!

Paisley’s own Adam Shame was swarmed by fans later in the night when he came to the ring ready for the main event with a piper to counter Mastiff’s earlier attempt at raising English pride, and as soon as the match kicked off we got a truly brutal Scotland versus England match as the two men beat each other senseless to move forward in the British title tournament.

Mastiff showed us why he’s one of the most saught after aquisitions in British wrestling today, not only by demonstrating sheer power and strength against the Paisley Wrecking Machine, but for his unmatched agility for a man his size!

After Hours Results: 28/03/2010 & British title update

Monday, March 29th, 2010

After Hours promised to be a show to remember as the stars of the Scottish Wrestling Alliance did battle once again in the Sports Cafe with Eric Canyon trying to gain more control over the company when he tried to interfere in Scott Renwicks title defense.

After a hard fought battle throughout, Wolfgang had the Scottish title in his sights when he tied Renwick up in a Sharpshooter and Eric Canyon called for the bell. Thinking it was allover, Adam Shame ran to the ring. Screwed over previously in the night, Shame had fallen victim to Canyon when he cost him a match against Mark Sweeney so the Paisley Wrecking Machine was looking for payback.

Forcing Wolfgang and Canyon to restart the match, Scott Renwick made sure it wasn’t a wasted opportunity and after a few minutes of leveling the playing field, hooked Wolfgang up for the Pedigree to retain his title.
