In June this year we started off a new era of SWA with the ‘New testament’ double header, with the first night seeing a change of the guard as British wrestling veteran Whiplash took home the Scottish Heavyweight Championship in only his second appearance for SWA by countering Andy Anderson’s double-knee smash and forcing the young star to tap out. With Whiplash becoming the latest man to hold the title, we’ve taken a quick look at the history of the championship.

Making a quick impression on Scottish Wrestling fans, Whiplash stormed into SWA earlier this year and only a few months later, stood strong as the Scottish Heavyweight Champion! It was a huge moment that left the Govan crowd stunned and after the fierce determination Whiplash displayed in his short and successful journey to the title, we expect to see a new era ushered in under his control.
