Rule 97; Enough is never enough.

Wednesday, December 14th, 2011

I haven’t had the chance to write any blogs for a while, but since we’re in the seasonal break I figured it was time to stop being lazy and start typing. Although with the way things are going, I should maybe join the trend and make a video post next time. Until I make that giant leap into the 21st century, here’s some stuff on my mind with a hint of shameless plugging…

Forsaken
We’ve had an up and down year since banding together as our merry little group of misfits, I think it’s safe to say we’ve had more fun. It might have been at the expense of the Source roster but I’ve enjoyed it. I even got to kind of/almost be SWA Tag Team Champion for about an afternoon. Which I’m sure fits the rules the Originals set out as I fit the job description. And with all the fun came some reward as Dunbar didn’t just have a steller run as T-Division champ this year but has ended 2011 on a high by toppling Joe Coffey for the Laird. I think a huzzah is in order.

But with the good news comes the bad as, unfortunately due to his unstable mental health, the Laandstrom Institute has recalled Jamie Walker and won’t release him for any more Source events as he keeps trying to chokeslam other patients when he gets home. Which leaves us with a gap in our group which we’ll have to get together and chat about.

Rule 48;The Bigger the Smile, the Sharper the Knife.

Sunday, August 7th, 2011

“You know your father was Captain of a Starship for 12 minutes. He saved eight-hundred lives. Including your mother’s and yours. I dare you to do better.”

Ok. So I didn’t get a starship, I got a tag title. And I didn’t save eight hundred lives. And in fairness, no one dared me to do better so the quote doesn’t entirely match the situation, but damn. That’s a good movie.

Since that August 6th show that saw me and Erica Canyon strutting our sexy stuff with the SWA Tag Team Championship, both me and SWA in general (or so I’m told, I wasn’t paying attention) have been asked how that happened. To explain…

Rob Drummond; Jobbing (Wrestling interview for thearches.co.uk)

Rob Drummond: Wrestling from The Arches on Vimeo.

James Tyler, pro wrestler with the Scottish Wrestling Alliance, talks to us about Rob’s rookie status and his (dubious) chances of succeeding ahead of his appearance in Rob Drummond’s Wrestling. The show fuses theatre, film and live professional wrestling. James – and two other professionals from the world of Scottish wrestling – appear in the show between 9th-13th February 2011 at the Arches, Glasgow.

Playwright Rob Drummond has been making a name for himself in the world of Scottish theatre. But all the words in the world won’t help him at the Arches in February 2011 when he steps into the ring and into the world of Scottish professional wrestling…

For the past four months, Rob has been working with trainer ‘Damo’ Damien O’Conor, training partner ‘The Antagonist’ James Tyler and wrestler and personal trainer ‘The Mercenary’ Joe Coffey to prepare for the show. A BAFTA-nominated, multi-award winning film crew have been following his every move – the blood, the sweat, the tears, and the moments of personal triumph.

What can SWA Online do for you?

Thursday, December 2nd, 2010

With the SWA year coming to an end, and the last Fan Access update for 2010 online for all to see, I find myself stuck inside the office with no way of getting to the gym without a snow plow. So with plenty of time on my hands, I thought I’d post this a little early…

SWA Online has always pushed to be the best it can be and with the ‘News & Features’ (Fan Access) section driving the bulk of the updates and features, we want to know what you like, what you don’t like and how our updates can improve to suit you.

Would you like to see more blogs from SWA Stars, or hear from any one of your favourites in particular? What do you make of our Fan Access updates, recaps and reviews? Would you prefer something different or perhaps we can improve on our current content?
