10 Things… that have kept us distracted while we wait for Rebirth!

Monday, January 23rd, 2012

Another month, another list o things that have caught our attention! So before the wrestling year kicks off in Bridgeton with Source Wrestling on Jan 28th and SWA’s Rebirth in Paisley Town Hall Feb 25th, here’s a list of things that have kept us occupied as we’ve chewed our fingers off in anticipation!

10. Independence
It’s the topic that’s been stealing the headlines lately as debate, discussion and political warfare has been unleashed upon the UK. Despite being the ‘Scottish’ Wrestling Alliance, we’re rather fond of our fellow Brits – especially as some English men helped found this company and our SWS manager is Irish – but with so many arguments for and against, let us know what you think!

9. The Olympics
There’s not much time left, but soon enough London will be swarmed with athletes and fans as the best of the best in every field sqare off against ach other to represent their nation. There isn’t a competition as pure as that, and we’re surprised to be typing that as everyone in SWA Online’s office is biased on that subject, so we’ll be rooting for the Brits to take home a good few medals this year!

Your Voice; Would you like to see more interviews by Marty Michaels?

Friday, January 20th, 2012

Over the holidays you’ll have likely seen our Christmas and New Year sit-down chats between Marty Michaels and PJ Murphy. While preparing this video we have planned and prepared further media to add to our YouTube channel in the coming months but until then we’d like to ask our online audience what you’d like to see.

We’ve taken on board a lot of feedback regarding matches and will be uploading regularly throughout the year, but after the feedback on Mr Murphy’s video we’re wondering… would you like some more? and if so, would you like more form the SWA co-owner or from other SWA Stars?

Please feel free to get in touch with the comments box below, our email contact form or even on YouTube and Twitter to let us know who you’d like to see sit down with Marty for an honest and frank discussion!

Peter Murphy’s New Year Interview

Sunday, January 8th, 2012

To celebrate the new year Marty Michaels sits down for an informal chat with SWA booker Peter Murphy to gain inside on the man behind the persona, his thoughts on Scottish Wrestling and much more. Split into three parts for your viewing pleasure, click the links below to view the interview on our YouTube channel.

Part One | Part Two | Part Three

In the first part of our informal chat with SWA Booker Peter Murphy, we hear his thoughts on WWE and lessons learned in the demands of production, his abilities and limitations and his time with Ric Flair while part two focuses on his thoughts on the wrestling scene in Scotland, the British Wrestling Council, the power of hindsight and whats next for Scottish Wrestling. In the third he talks about potential in Scotland’s wrestling talent, Drew McIntyre, and tells us about the best (and worst) of his time in wrestling.

Our Top Ten Moments of 2011 in pictures! (part 4/4)

Saturday, December 31st, 2011

With a hectic year packed with action across all three brands of SWA, I’ve picked my top ten moments in pictures! If you have a favourite moment or you feel somethings been overlooked, feel free to comment below! Happy New Year!

Andy Anderson; Champion
The biggest moment for me was a quick roll up at Clan Wars! After surviving the Money in the Bank scramble at the Gathering in February, Andy Anderson grasped onto his title shot and unlike previous winners, took his time about cashing it in.

While waiting for the perfect moment, Anderson hunted out other challenges in both Source and SWA, even heading oversea,s as he strived to be the very best he could be before taking his moment. As the Originals celebrated winning Clan Wars, and the SWA Tag Team titles, Anderson used their egotistical moment as a distraction and as they began to throw hands with the NuGeneration, Anderson surprised Canyon with asneak attack and rolled him up to gain the title!

Since then Anderson went on to prove that he was worthy of the title by defeating several huge opponents including former champion Falcon, and has paved the way to enter 2012 as a respected and dignified champion!
