Returning to Bridgeton Community Centre to kick off the year, the graduates of the Source Wrestling School were thrown into a showcase event that descended into chaos! With the winner of the Pride Championship rescheduled to March, the young up and comers and latest graduates from the school were handed he spotlight and given their moment to shine and each and every one of them proved they were already on their paths to challenging for the Pride title!
As the stars of the new generation showed their stuff, an SWA star began to show his frustration as he went to extra efforts to make sure tommy Daniels didn’t surpass his momentum. SWA Co-owner Eric Canyon battled hard against Daniels but despite getting a few blows in, Daniels speed and agility got the better of him. But, as he often does, Canyon had a trick up his sleeve and called out Lewis Girvan and Killian to back him up. Before long, Christopher Saynt, Axle Simmons and Bobby Roberts came to even the odds with James St James trying to break up the brawl that ensued!
With tensions high, the challenge was made “You bring your friends, I’ll bring mine and we’ll make this an eight man tag tonight!”

What a year we have had in SWA. With the Originals vs. The New Line feud dominating a majority of the cards right up until the historic 100th event in St. Bride’s Hall in Motherwell it thus became harder and harder to see who would end the year as Champions. This was exacerbated by “Originals” leader Peter Murphy, who has increasingly distanced himself from the “Originals” group after screwing Scott Renwick out of his Scottish Title at the Gathering in February. Perhaps Murphy is feeling guilty for what he did to Scott Renwick? Or perhaps is there an ulterior motive to his actions?
Because of this, Murphy has had quite the tumultuous relationship with New Line leader Damian O’Connor. O’Connor has been unable to buy into Murphys sudden change of heart and as a result, both men have clashed, ending with Murphy smashing O’Connor over the head with a steel chair. He then promised on his “state of the SWA address” on Christmas Day viewable Here that O’Connor would face the signee of the mysterious “contract” that Murphy continually makes reference to. Could this mean Murphy stepping out of retirement for one last match….or has he something altogether more devious up his sleeve?
Elsewhere, New Line member and Paisley boy Andy Anderson made a hell of a name for himself in August when he cashed in his guaranteed Scottish Heavyweight Title shot against Eric Canyon and won his first ever title. What a title to begin with! Since then he has made successful title defences against former Champion Eric Canyon, Jackie Polo, Falcon and many more. Anderson has used the knowledge gained at not only the SWA’s Source Wrestling School, but also at Lance Storm’s Storm Wrestling Academy, as well as from Rickie Steamboat, Dusty Rhodes and many others at FCW in Tampa, Florida to become one hell of a fighting champion. His maturity shines through with every bout.

After the nominations and voting process, a select group of fans, staff and talent gathered in Glasgow to celebrate the best of the best in 2011 with our annual awards ceremony. After weeks of voting, the numbers were close but the final winners were revealed when we all gathered together at the. The SWA Committee would like to thank everyone who came along and took part in the awards and came along to support and celebrate the year with us.
SWA Hall of Fame 2011; Adam Shame, Eric Canyon & David Wilson
This year we saw three men inducted into the SWA Hall of Fame who have been the starting point for SWA as well as core members in helping get the company off the ground way back in our early days. Our in-ring stars to be inducted are two of the men who have been there from the beginning and helped form the company in 2004. Both men had a hand in training the first wave of students back in the days of training in Clydebank and elevated the company with their storied feuds with the Sinners, as well as each other! And joining them in the Hall of Fame is one man who’s praises can’t be sung highly enough. David Wilson has worked non stop since those early days to document SWA since it’s inception to the present day with ringside snaps and has been a strong advisor to the SWA Committee
Without a shadow of a doubt, these three men are some of the guys we look up to with the utmost respect and we thank them for everything they’ve done for SWA over the years.

After John ‘The Bomb’ Grama defeated Eric Canyon the night before in Govan, the SWA Originals wee seething as the unstoppable Bomb had gained the right to battle for the SWA Tag Team Championship in St Brides Hall, Motherwell. Not only Bomb’s home town, but on the biggest night of the year as SWA celebrated it’s one hundredth event!
It was only fitting that this milestone was celebrated with a huge battle between old and new as the Originals, Eric Canyon and Adam Shame, put their titles on the line against one of the most dominating teams to enter the NuGeneration of Scottish Wrestling; Nathan Black and The Bomb, better known together as the Weapons of Mass Destruction!
Despite Shame and Canyon making every effort to retain, using a wealth of trickery and deception in addition to their in-ring strengths, Bombs home crowd and the physical dominance of himself and Nathan Black proved too much to handle and in the main event of the night we saw th second title change of the weekend as The Bomb and Nathan Black held the tag titles high, winning them for the NuGeneration and heading into 2012 as champions!
