Fantasy League; Semi Finals! Damian O’Conor versus…

The votes have been counted!
Our Fantasy League might have taken a break over the holidays but as we come back we’re redy for the semi-finals after some frantic voting on our last round-one pairing between John ‘the Bomb’ Graham and the legendary Goldberg! Despite being out of action for a few years, it’s clear that Goldberg never fell from anyone’s favourites list as the votes in our poll showed that the former World Champion came just ahead of the race against The Bomb. But… adfter Bomb won the tag titles with Nathan Black in Motherwell (and that was the land of reality, not fantasy!) he’s not losing any sleep over it!

So now with four men whittled down to the fantasy league, we have Damien O’Conor and Joe Coffey in SWA’s camp while our legends remaining are the late Eddie Guererro and after the seasonal vote, Goldberg! So with two names still on each side, we’re putting two of the best and most gifted wrestlers against each other. Let’s look at the stats!

‘The Aggressive Technician Damian O’Conor
Still a young man in his twenties, O’Conor has already had a diverse and satisfying career in the six years since his debut. Having been a natural athlete from an early age, Damo moved to Scotland to train with SWA only to advance in leaps and bounds to become the head trainer of the Source Wrestling School, something he achieved thanks to his breaking out into the British scene and becoming one of the busiest home grown talents on the roster!
In his first year of wrestling, Damo gained notoriety by winning the SWA Tag Team Championship as part of the Shamrockers. He has since gained several more tag titles in SWA and beyond alongside partner Scott Renwick, become the W3L Champion in Fife and has had a stellar run as SWA Laird of the Ring Champion and his title campaigns are still only just beginning!
With a strong technical mind and a heavy base, Damo can switch between the most dazzling of holds to the most furious of strikes in the blink of an eye. In the past year we’ve seen the Irishman take more risks with power moves form the top and dives to the outside. He’s a relentless and volatile opponent to stand opposite the ring with.

‘Latino Heat’ Eddie Guererro
Being born into a strong and now legendary wrestling family, Guererro had an amazing start to his career as he was raised and absorbed the world of wrestling from a young age. A true workhorse, Eddie rose up the ranks to the international stage with stints in ECW and WCW before he jumped ship to WWE in 2000. Three years after his WWE debut, he rose to the main event and became the backbone of the company and one of the most loved champions of all time.
Having racked up more international level championships than most men could ever dream of, Guererro was finally able to attain the ‘big one’ by defeating Brock Lesner in 2003 in a long, thrilling match and went on to retain two months later in the biggest pay per view event of the year. The win opened a new chapter for Guererro who went on to main event international television shows until his untimely death in 2005.
Throughout his career, Eddie was a mixed bag of talent that is often remembered for his amazing mat prowess, a skill that helped him out-wrestle the likes of Brock Lesner and Kurt Angle. He could escape any hold, surprise his opponents with his speed, agility and performance and one they were down and out, he’d ensure that big win with a sky high frog splash!

Overview
With two technically gifted wrestlers in this match up, who do yo think would come out on top between SWA’s own Damo O’Conor and the late, great legend Eddie Guererro?
