Six of the Best; Volume 27

6. Jackie Polo
His first entry on Six of the Best, Polo has grabbed my attention this month after his rise up the card in November. For anyone that missed the 100th show in Motherwell, Polo got his chance at the Scottish title after the Originals selected the young star to battle Andy Anderson for the title. Despite Anderson retaining his belt, Poo certainly grabbed my attention with his performance!
5. Christopher Saynt
The only source exclusive star to make the listing this month also makes his first appearance in 6OTB after a huge win over James Scott in the main event in his hometown, Clydebank! His win not only gave him the biggest of his career to date, but qualified him to enter the Pride of Scotland tournament and have the chance to become the first Source-exclusive champion!
4. SWA Laird of the Ring Champion Glen Dunbar
After teaming up with Eric Canyon at Source in Clydebank, Dunbar sent a message to Joe coffey when his Forsaken buddies – Jam O’Malley and James St James – tied Coffey to the railings while Dunbar pummeled Black Samurai Junior. While Coffey watched helpless, Dunbar showed him just how far he’d go for a win. A week later and Joe took out all his frustrations on Dunbar, kicking him black and blue, but despite Coffey’s dominance, the oppertunistic Dunbar walked out with his first Laird of the Ring Championship win!
3. Damian O’Conor
Despite a loss to Dickie Divers in Source Wrestling’s trip Beith, O’Conor was able to gain a pin over Jackie Polo the following night in Clydebank and at SWA the following weekend he faced two more trials thanks to the SWA Originals. But despite all odds being against him, O’Conor was able to comeup strong on both nights defeating Liam Thomson in Govan and Jack GGhallager in Motherwell!
2. NWA Scottish Champion Andy Anderson
Anderson walked into SWA’s November double header as the lucky underdog and by the end of the weekend of shows, he walked out finally proving he was a worthy champion! The first night in Govan saw him tackle a former Scottish champion, and fellow underdog turned hero, Falcon and after retaining he was sent the heavyweight Jackie Polo and two nights running, Anderson retained to walk into 2012 as our champ!
1. SWA Tag Team Champions, WMD (The Bomb & Nathan Black)
Top of my list this month are the two men who impressed me no end! Bomb has stormed through events in recent months with his brute power and strength while Black has showcased his tough-to-beat wrestling skill. After a quick victory in Source’s Clydebank gig – decimating Charles William Yum in moments – he went on to defeat Eric Canyon the following Friday in SWA’s Trial by Fir. A win that earned him the right to battle for the tag titles the next night in is hometown!
When WMD walked through the curtain the next night in their first ever main event match, the crowed had turned to favour them over the Originals and for the first time they felt the thrill of their cheers and aplause. With two of the Originals most stories champions opposite them and Peter Murphy officiating the match, it was a huge opportunity and WMD didn’t disappoint! The fans were on their feet as the duo got that big win and were handed the tag titles – marking a huge win for the NuGeneration of SWA on our big 100th show!
