Sourcelight; The Next Chapter

With the wrestling side to the year coming to a close for both Source and SWA, I’ve been left with nothing else to do but paperwork! Looking back threough all my notes, it’s been an interesting year all round and one of Source’s busiest to date.

Thanks to the wonderful team at the Source wrestling School, there’s been a lot of people advancing to the Source roster to test their training in front of a live crowd. Some of the most achieved this year include Christopher Saynt and Kirsty Love, who in their rookie year have managed to both breakout beyond source Wrestling, most notably with Love making her Pro Wrestling Eve debut and there have been several more to make an impact such as Tommy Daniels who gets better every match!

There have been many more such as Axl Simmons, Bobby Roberts and Craigy Miller plus we’ve also seen the womens division expand with Lindsay Turner and Carly making their first steps into the limelight.

The fact that we’ve had a year full of debut’s is a great tribute to the SWS team’s efforts. Since the move to Ibrox and rebranding the facility as SWS, we’ve seen a huge amount of guest trainers, newcomers and with more dates on the Source calendar, a lot of people stepping up their game to grab their chance. It might sound a little biased considering my job within this SWA world, but I firmly believe the Source Wrestling School is the best place for anyone who wants the chance to step into the ring to get their foot in the door.

2011 hasn’t just seen new talent coming through the doors, but older talents re-establishing themselves and advancing in their careers such as Glen Dunbar who had an awesome run as T-Division champion and has ended the year as the Laird of the Ring champion. We’ve also seen Dickie Divers and Damo O’conor, among others, take big leaps to step up the ranks.

Looking forward to next year, I expect to see more new faces mixing with our established players and our 2011 graduates solidify themselves as the core of Source Wrestling. Both myself and the trainers at SWS are very hopeful, and very proud of their efforts.

But the biggest judge in wrestling is you guys, the fans who come and watch the action take place. So who do you think will move forward in 2012? Who were your 2011 favorites? And when we return in January, what would you like to see happen in 2012 as we take the final steps to crowning Source’s first champion?
