A couple of weeks shy of five years ago Source Wrestling (under a different name at the time for those who aren’t familiar with out history) had it’s first origins in Linwood, just down the road from our former training centre. In those five years a lot has changed and the entire brand has re-shaped itself in so many ways thanks to different leaders, creative minds and an overflow of some amazing emerging talent.
But through all the changes and different ways of running things, each person has brought their own stamp to the table when it comes to working behind the scenes of Source. When it comes to what happens in the ring, the talent has made their own fates by grabbing hold of every opportunity thrown at them. As we enter a new year and look back on 2011, we can’t help but look back and feel proud of one of Source’s roster not only taking his opportunity to shine, but smashing through the ‘glass ceiling’ to become the poster boy of Scottish wrestling as a whole.
Getting his foot in the door at what’s now known as the Source Wrestling School, Andy Anderson spent a lot of time working harder than everyone else to get his moment in the ring. When he started training he was still in school, working hard to pass his exams and set himself up with a bright future. At the same time, making sure never to neglect his studies, Anderson was finishing up his days in training and for almost two years he spent every waking moment preparing himself for that chance to get into the ring. Perfecting every move, timing every step, studying every old match he could get his hands on, Andy did everything he could to make sure he was spot-on perfect and wouldn’t miss a beat and when he finally got that chance to step in front of a crowd and wrestle for the first time, he could taste the desire to succeed.

With the wrestling side to the year coming to a close for both Source and SWA, I’ve been left with nothing else to do but paperwork! Looking back threough all my notes, it’s been an interesting year all round and one of Source’s busiest to date.
Thanks to the wonderful team at the Source wrestling School, there’s been a lot of people advancing to the Source roster to test their training in front of a live crowd. Some of the most achieved this year include Christopher Saynt and Kirsty Love, who in their rookie year have managed to both breakout beyond source Wrestling, most notably with Love making her Pro Wrestling Eve debut and there have been several more to make an impact such as Tommy Daniels who gets better every match!
There have been many more such as Axl Simmons, Bobby Roberts and Craigy Miller plus we’ve also seen the womens division expand with Lindsay Turner and Carly making their first steps into the limelight.

The Source Wrestling year is almost at an end and as we close the year in Clydebank, we’re closing with an addition the the Pride of Scotland tournament. Due to the suspension of Mark Anthony, I had to pull him from the tournament which left a gaping hole in the line up.
We’re at the semi-finals stage and so far we have three men qualified due to Anthony being pulled for the tournament, we only ave three competitors left.
CJ Hunter defeated Black Samuri Junior to make it to the semi finals and will battle Damian O’Conor who gained a hard fought win over Nathan Black to earn his place against CJ in the semi-finals. The other semi-final match was scheduled to include Scott Renwick, who qualified over Glen Dunbar versus Mark Anthony. But without Anthony in the tournament, I need a replacement.
So with the Pride of Scotland tournament now missing one man, the I’ve decided to fill the slot with the ultimate Survival Challenge to close the year! But with it being the last Source event of 2011 and the following week of SWA shows marking 100 live events produced by SWA, we’ve decided to make things a little different.

As some fans may have read in our news updates this weekend, fans of the all-womens Pro Wrestling Eve were introduced to two new faces from the Source Wrestling School. Along with bringing her usual A game, Nikki Storm brought an ally and an enemy as she made her return to Eve.
As the stars of Source entered Cumbernauld, the town that saw Kirsty Love’s debut earlier this year, she was putting on her lycra and gearing up as she was asked to show her stuff against the woman she made her debut against, Vyper. This time round, she would be taking her chance to fight for Eve, a promotion dedicated to giving female wrestlers the spotlight they deserve and on that night, both she and Vyper made quite an impression!
With fans as well as backstage staff impressed with their performance, they went on to wrestle the next day with Vyper gaining a victory over Eve’s Janey B in the morning before tasting defeat at the hands of the huge Alpha female in a triple threat also featuring Rhia O’Reilly. Love went on to battle a familiar face in Nikki Storm, who she battled with in Johnstone to eject Nikki from Source, then went on to battle SWA’s Sara-Marie Taylor.
