With the roster piled at ringside in the main event for Scott Renwick’s title defence against Liam Thomson in a Lumberjack match, as you would expect, all hell broke loose! With not only the NWA Scottish Heavyweight Championship up for grabs, but Renwick’s pride and Eric Canyon’s struggle for control of the company, the fight was heated inside the ring, but it was equally tense outside.

Still sore from the events earlier in the night, the talent found themselves exploding towards the close of the match Team Canyon tried to interfere, only to find retaliation from Team Renwick. With the roster brawling to the backstage area to settle some scores, Renwick found himself alone in the ring with Thomson and the main events special guest referee… Eric Canyon.

Yet again proving that he wasn’t willing to give up easily, Renwick battled against the odds forcing Canyon to reluctantly make the three count against his own man after a vicious Meat Hook sent Thomsons head into the canvas.

It was then that Peter Murphy made an appearance in his home town, running down Canyon as he pushed Renwick to go one step further and delcared that when the two square off at the Gathering, Murphy himself will become special guest referee.

Earlier in the night, the Disco Biscuits celebrated after defeating STI for the SWA Tag Team Championship, but as they posed with the titles they were soon deflated to learn that Grange and Divers had signed a contract stating the titles would only change hands if they were in the main event of the night.

The Canyon Administration had less success in a tag match when Mr Canyon looked for an easy victory over ‘the sound guy’ Lewis Girvin. Coming to the ring with Area 52’s Mark Anthony, Canyon gave Girvin five seconds to find a partner and Joe Coffey quickly answered the call. Canyons plans quickly backfired when Coffey and Girvin managed to pick up the win, to the delight of the Uddingston crowd.

One of the best matches on the card found Nikki Storm gaining some vengeance over Sara when they two women went into a Last Lady Standing match which saw Storm pick up the pace and find her dark place, fighting off the vicious Sara and doing anything it took to ensure that Sara’s knee was so out of shape, she wouldn’t be able to get up and leave.

With a gap in the British title tournament, Lionheart was able to defeat Mike Musso to advance to the second round, while two other British Tournament standouts went toe to toe when BT Gunn and Falcon found themselves in a friendly match as they prepare for their quarter final placements. Gunn is still set to challenge Moss in his match, while Falcon has found his opponent in Lionheart after his win in Uddingston.

Quick Results:
- The Disco Bscuits defeated SWA Tag Team Champions STI in what was deemed a non-title contest by the champions.
- Lionheart defeated Mike Musso to advance to the second round of the British Championship Tournament.
- Lewis Girvin & Joe Coffey defeated Mark Anthony and Eric Canyon
- BT Gunn defeated Falcon
- Nikki Storm defeated Sara
- Scott Renwick defeated Liam Thomson to retain the NWA Scottish Championship.

With just over a week left to August 28th, SWA Online has learned the final pieces of the puzzle as we prepare for our trip to Uddingston where we’ll see two fan favourites face each other as they prepare for their quarter final matches in the NWA British Championship Tournament.

With his quarter final match against Johnny Moss delayed, we saw BT Gunn tear through Jester in a huge main event for After Hours, seding a message to Moss that despite his achievements, his power, his size, and his confidence… Gunn was ready for the challenge and he was going to do anything it took to make sure he’s the man to head to the final. His defeat over Jester was only one more step in an amazing streak which has seen his charge through the tournament, as well as any challengers outwith his quest for the title, and he’s doing everything to make sure he doesn’t stop now.

On August 28th he’ll find himself against an opponent who knows him all too well, former ally and training partner Falcon. Falcon has already won British title gold being a former NWA-UK Junior Heavyweight Champion, the first man to win the title on Scottish soil. Falcon has had a string of successes under his belt, having held the NWA Scottish, NWA-UK Junior, SWA Tag Team titles among others he’s been a human highlight reel in SWA since day one.

These two allies will find themselves opposite each other in the ring as both men prepare for their quarter finals match, with BT Gunn still slated to fight Johnny Moss while Falcon’s opponent in the quarters is still undetermined. With nothing on the line but their pride, this should be a friendly contest, but Falcon’s agent has his own views…

This may be a friendly contest between the two on paper, but I can assure you, with both men fueling themselves with the goal of becoming NWA British Champion, neither of them will be in the mood to play nice. (read full comment)

When Eric Canyon was asked to comment, his response was surprising…

Are they my contracted talents? No! STI having to defend their titles against those dancing Disco Biscuits, to men so full of cheer it makes me physically sick and Liam Thomson finally taking the NWA Scottish title from Scott Renwick. That’s what I care about!

Canyon went on to reveal that the strain of his efforts to gain control of SWA as well as nursing Red Lightning back to health after handing in a doctors line to Canyon recently is forcing him to relieve his stress in the ring.

There’s been whispers, rumours and all sorts being said about me behind my back since I bought 50% of this company and I’m sick of it. If someone wants to say something, it’ll be to my face and on August 28th, I’ll be unpacking my ring boots and giving someone the chance to act like a real man, look me in the eye, and step into the ring with one of the greatest men in this company; Me.

With the above revelation it looks like we can add both BT Gunn versus Falcon, and the Eric Canyon Challenge to the event in Uddingston’s Viewpark Community centre on August 28th.

The event will also feature The Disco Biscuits challenging STI for the SWA Tag Team Championship; Nikki Storm gaining some vengeance in a singles match with Sara; Heavyweights Lionheart and Mike Musso facing each other for the first time in SWA and Liam Thomson challenging Scott Renwick for the NWA Scottish Championship in a Lumberjack Match!

We can now reveal that Lionheart is now scheduled to face the man known as ‘The Merchandise’ Mike Musso!

Having dominated the east coast of Scotland as well as making an impact in the West, Mike Musso is a former W3L Heavyweight Champion who’s tackled some of Scotland’s top headliners such as former NWA Scottish Champion Wolfgang in stellar matches, as well as SWA’s own NWA British title hopeful Damien O’Conor and Scottish fan favourite and Gathering regular, Darkside.

Lionheart himself is a former NWA Scottish Champion and has held several other Heavyweight titles in his career. Aside form being in the main event at the past two Gatherings, he’s been a regular in the NWA Scottish title scene for several years now.

With these two experienced and accomplished heavyweights in the ring opposing each other, we’re guaranteed an exciting match added to August 28th in Viewpark Community Centre, Uddingston.

The Uddingston event will also feature Nikki Storm versus Sara, The Disco Biscuits challenging STI for the SWA Tag Team Championship and in the main event, Liam Thomson challenging Scott Renwick for the NWA Scottish Heavyweight Championship in a Lumberjack match!

You can also expect to see more of your favorite SWA stars including BT Gunn, Damien O’Conor, Joe Coffey and Falcon!

The clock is ticking for Liam Thomson as we approach August 28th’s event at Viewpark Community Centre in Uddingston. He was the first man to defeat Scott Renwick since he became NWA Scottish Heavyweight Champion in September 2009 and with Canyon placing all the pressure on him to take the gold away from Renwick, Thomson knows he could very well walk out of the match as the new Champion of Scotland.

With the support of SWA co-owner and his talent relations manger Charles Boddington and their financial backing for his training regime, Thomson has an obvious advantage. The SWA Committee feel that with the absence of Peter Murphy, perhaps he’ll have too much of an advantage and have decided to make things fair.

To ensure both men are allowed to face each other with no foul play, no interference and no distractions the stars of SWA will line the ring in Lumberjack rules. Standing guard to make sure no one gets in, and no one gets out.

The Canyon administration may have to keep it’s attention elsewhere, as the dynamic due of Magic Mackie and Freddie Da Funk – The Disco Biscuits – become the next team to try and topple the champs. The cruiserweights have a reputation for constantly fighting back to their feet with sheer will and determination making them a heck of a challenge for STI.

Also scheduled, we’ll see Nikki Storm back in Uddingston! After her defeat over Viper at Source on Friday 13th, she’ll be able to get her hands on Sara and exact some revenge from her being attacked and eliminated from the Femme Fatal Fourway at Battlezone!

Lionheart, Joe Coffey, Damien O’Conor, BT Gunn and more will be in action. Keep your eyes on SWA Online for further updates!

SWA returns once again to the Bargarran Community Centre in Erskine with its Source product.

SWA Tag Team Champion Dickie Divers has been whining and moaning that he doesn’t get enough opportunities to prove himself not only to Eric Canyon, but to the SWA fans that he is one of the best in the UK today. Not only is he a record breaking SWA Tag Champion, but he’s the most athleticly gifted wrestlers in the World! The SWA committee have decided to call Divers bluff by putting him against one of the participants in the NWA:UK British Heavyweight Title Tournament, the former SWA Laird of the Ring and Tag Team Champion, Damian O’Connor. Divers will certainly have his hands full as he goes up against the Aggressive Technician O’Connor. Especially considering the history between the two, whereby Divers screwed O’Connor out of the Tag Titles, and helped Red Lightning screw O’Conor out of the Laird Title. We can assume then that O’Connor will relish the opportunity to get his hands on the devious Divers, and could very well close Divers’ big mouth once and for all! This should prove to be one hell of a match up between the Aggressive Irishman and one half of Eric Canyon’s record breaking Tag Team Champions!

Speaking of Co-Owner Eric Canyon, although fully confident in his abilities and fully confident that he could easily take out Scott Renwick when the Gathering rolls around, he has decided he will use the Source product to challenge someone he has never beaten in his long illustrious career. This could lead to all kinds of prospects when we roll into Erskine considering the long list of talented individual’s Canyon hasn’t managed to topple in his career. This could prove to be quite a challenge!

As a result of Vyper’s interference during the closing stages of the Womens Femme Fatale Four Way at Govan, Sara managed to walk away with the spot at the Gathering 4, costing the Area 52 Prodigy Nikki Storm her rightful place on the event. Storm has been livid since, and took out her frustrations on Sara’s best friend Carmel at After Hours. But at Erskine, Nikki gets an opportunity to take on Vyper in a one on one match up, and if she wins, she gets to take on Sara for her Gathering spot August 28th in Uddingston! Alot will be riding on this match up and Nikki Storm will have to be at the top of her game to defeat the Vyper!

Rising star of the Area 52 training facility Joe Coffey will be returning to Erskine, to take on the masked sensation, Black Samurai Jr. Joe Coffey is eager to showcase the skills he has developed working alongside “Prince” Fergal Devitt over the past year, and the Japanese Enigma will be more than happy to comply. In what will be an aggressive, fast paced match up, it will be interesting to see who will prevail.

The card so far:
- SWA Tag Team Champion Dickie Divers vs. Damian O’Connor
- Joe Coffey vs. Black Samurai Jr.
- Eric Canyon Challenge; Eric Canyon vs. ???
- Ladies Grudge Match; Nikki Storm vs. Vyper

Also confirmed!:
- Adam Shame
- Private First Class Ricky Gibson
- “The Superstar” Glen Dunbar
- Glasgow Kiss Barry Miller

And many more!

Due to ongoing industrial action by Culture & Sport Glasgow in recent months, and more strikes planned to effect leisure and arts venues, those of us in the Scottish Wrestling Alliance have found ourselves in a difficult position as we cannot guarantee that the Kelvin Hall will open it’s doors on the weekend of September 11th. Other avenues were researched and alternative venues sourced inducing Scotsoun and Bellahouston Sports Centres, however all suitable and available options operate under the Culture & Sports department.

Without being able to guarantee our efforts to bring the Gathering in full force this year, it is with heavy heart and a lot of disappointment that we have decided to postpone the event until early 2011.

Culture & Sport Glasgow have had a hard time keeping normal services through these industrial actions this year over several venues such as the Tramway & Mitchel Theatres, Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, City Halls and many others including the home of the Gathering; The Kelvin Hall. As the unions involved with CGS are still in negotiations and are still planning further strikes, we don’t want to invite fans to the biggest event of our calendar only to find out the doors are closed. The risks of going ahead with the event as planned are just too great at this time.

We understand any disappointment this may raise, and at this time all we can do is apologise to our fans and promise to you that the Gathering will go ahead once Culture & Sport Glasgow can guarantee this situation is over with.

If you have purchased tickets for this event, please contact us at fanaccess@scottishwrestling.co.uk with your order numbers and we will ensure they are refunded in full.

SWA’s events outwith CGS supported venues will go ahead as planned. Such as our August events; 13th in Erskine and 28th in Uddingston as well as further dates which are available on our events calendar.

After Hours first event in the Classic Grand kicked off with a bang with Eric Canyon opening the show with a warning to Scott Renwick, leading to the champ finally getting some frustrations out on the co-owner, but despite being knocked down by Renwick, Canyon was still grinning as he looked forward to seeing his talent take over After Hours!

Two of his talents, Liam Thomson and SWA Tag Team Champion Dicky Divers found themselves at opposite corners proving their worth to Canyon with Charles Boddington overseeing the match, but the crowd were on Divers’ side as Thomson upped his game to make Divers bleed to win.

SWA Laird of the Ring Champion, and another of Canyons acolytes, Red Lightning was not as successful as Thomson however, finding himself defeated by Joe Coffey despite Jam O’Malley’s distraction tactics.

In a change to the scheduled main event, BT Gunn found himself up against fellow British tournament quarter finalist Jester. If you’d never seen an After Hours main event before, this was your perfect introduction. The two battled hard around the venue, exchanging insults, exchanging strikes and generally battering each other black and blue before Gunn pulled out an amazing victory, seeing both men celebrate in the ring!

The night also saw Chris Renfrew answer Kid Fite’s open challenge and the fiesty Nikki Storm gain a win over Carmel.

Quick Results
- Chris Renfrew defeated Kid Fite
- Red Lightning (w/Jam O’Malley) defeated Joe Coffey
- Liam Thompson (w/Charles Boddington) defeated ‘Tricky’ Dickie Divers in a First Blood Match
- BT Gunn defeated Jack Jester in a Singapore Cane match

On July 25th the After Hours product will find itself in a new home in the heart of Glasgow as the Blood, Sweat and Beers crew present SWA After Hours in the Classic Grand!

Possibly the most talented and frighting individual to enter a ring in Europe today, the genetic monster Johnny Moss, has put forth his demands to SWA that his next match in the NWA British Championship tournament takes place in the harsh environment of After Hours! With Moss obviously confident heading into the match, he’ll find himself drawn against an opponent who’s more than meets the eye!

That man? The highly popular, death defying and hugely talented former NWA Scottish Champion BT Gunn! Gunn has been on a roll lately and after a string of challenges he faces his toughest yet against the former British Champion Johnny Moss.

Laird of the Ring Champion Red Lightning has recently proven to be a worthy, if not arrogant, champion in recent months but when he enters After Hours on the 25th, he’ll have his hands full with a challenge that could likely bring that to an end when he takes on two former Scottish Champions, Wolfgang and the Ministry of Bizarre’s Jack Jester, in a three way dance for the title.

Plus we’ll have the energetic Nikki Storm in action and Kid Fite ready to bring the pain in his open challenge!

Current line up:
+ British Tournament Second Round; Johnny Moss versus BT Gunn
+ Laird of the Ring 3 Way: Red Lightning vs. Wolfgang vs. Jack Jester
+ Kid Fite open challenge.
+ Nikki Storm in action.

Entry to this event is £10 on the door. Alternatively, you can order online at TicketWeb.co.uk.

After Hours is an adults-only environment. Please be aware that this event is for over 18’s only. Full details will be added to our events section closer to the event.
