SWA TALENT ROSTER
The T Division
Since it's inception in mid-2004, the T Division has become a strong part of the Scottish Wrestling Alliance and a hue part of the companies identity.
The biggest misconception with the division is that it's a 'trainees' league. That couldn't be further from the truth...
The T Division title only has one rule - it's holder Must only be in their first three years of competition in professional wrestling. There is no weight class, this isn't a cruiser weight title to mirror the heavyweight nor is it one for amateur's. The T-Division trophy is a stepping stone to success, a chance for this in their early career to make their mark in professional wrestling.
Success stories.
Stars such as Jonny Milla and White Tiger have used it to help elevate their status in the world of British wrestling and have gone on to have a lot of success. White Tiger, one of the first competitors for the title and a former champion, has gone on to be one of British wrestling's fan favourites, 'wowing' crowds in the Midlands, as well as the North and of course, Scotland. Tiger has even gone on to compete for NWA's Scottish Heavyweight Champion, a title hosted by SWA, and battled for MPW's NWA-UK Central Counties title.
The Raging Bull has also held the title, having won the trophy in a heart-stopping ladder match and lost it in a Bull Rope match. Bull has gone on to add another SWA title to his CV, the SWA Tag Team Championship. A title he holds with fellow Area 52 graduate, The Butcher Scott Renwick.
William Grange also became a success story, not only by being the first man who have a successful title defence in the T Division, but to also get enough recognition in SWA to move down to 3CW. After dazzling audiences with his expert technical wrestling skills, Grange took a leap of faith and created a life outside of the Sinners and teamed up with their enemy, CJ Hunter. The team later became a very successful tag team duo and held the tag titles until the Vegas Connection finally defeated them.
The Curse of the T-Division Trophy.
After a few title changes, fans started to believe there was a curse to the trophy. It seemed if yo won the trophy, you wouldn't survive even the first defence. William Grange was first to break this curse by having a successful defence against Chris Whitton, but in his second defence in SWA against White Tiger, the Japanese import won started the curse all over again.
Tiger lost the trophy to Raging Bull in his first defence. Raging Bull also lost in his first defence against Micken and then the curse was almost broken again as Mickens first defence was ruled a draw against Darren Lewis.
Micken couldn't evade the curse for long, however, and Darren Lewis defeated him in their rematch. Fortunately for Lewis though, he finally became the man to break the curse and went on to defend the trophy in a best of five series against Chris Renfrew.
The Future.
The title has a lot of life in it yet with the UK booming with up and coming talent and with SWA continuing to produce hungry young pro's out to make their mark in the industry.
Stars like Darren Lewis and Scott Renwick are breaking out and making names for themselves. The T Division seems to be the place to do that. We can expect more young talent from SWA, and elsewhere, to explode into the chase for the trophy and for fresh young, as yet unknown talents, to make their way into the limelight.
The trophy is the first stepping stone to success. If you want to be famous, come get it!
